Whenever we have rain our phone has so much static we cant use it or it just doesnt work at all. There must be a leak on the line .

The explanation why your line is static when it rains because theres a problem with the grounding wire outside your house. The wires might be exposed already that's why when it rains it gets wet and make your phone line static.

The best thing that you need to do is to call you phone provider and have one of technician visit your place and check the grounding system.

A complete re-wire might be needed as well.
