Hello Arthur... how are you doing?
Do you hear a humming noise or a grinding noise Arthur? May I ask what model is your Jeep, thank you
Is the noise coming from the front or rear? Is it clunking or something?
I am not sure , and is more like grindind
I see... first of I will suggest that the transmission be checked. It could be worn out and there can be metal dusts/shavings caused by the grinding. I suggest that you put in a good grade transmission fluid to get your transmission back to it's normal operation.
Dried out transmission or burnt fluid can make a noticeable grinding sound on the transmission Arthur. AC DELCO transmission fluid is a good one.
this jeep is a AWD and it only makes this noise when you turn slow left or right the noise it makes is if the tires were hiting the fender or frame
Is your jeep equipped with electric power steering or the conventional power steering that uses power steering fluid?
is not the power steering it feels it had limited slip and the clutches were not sliping
Ok Arthur, I suspect that the front drive shaft constant velocity joints are worn out. Both should be replaced since you can feel them on both sides.
They can really make an annoying noise during turns. They do wear out over time and if you haven't replaced them for quite some time I believe now is the time. They will cost at least $85 Arthur.
I believe you'll be good after the replacement Arthur. I'm gonna have to ask you to do something for me before we get done. Thank you
ok what is that
Is there anything else I can assist you with or add Arthur?
