First Can you try reseating the phone line from the base?

Remove any connection including power and plug it all back and test.

Let me know your findings

Well i did that, however, nothing has changed.  I did these procedures prior to checking

with this site.

If I got you correctly, you pressed the mute button and now you cannot remove it from mute and you are getting a busy tone when dialing the uniden?

When i try to use the phone by calling from my cell phone, that is when i hear a busy signal.

The first part of your message below is correct.  Thanks.

I just checked the Uniden phone, and i heard a dial tone.  i will try calling my cell phone now to see

if everything works now.  (The word mute does still show up on the Uniden phone when i turned it on.)

that did not work, and now the uniden phone just makes a noise, but not the dial tone???  Weird!

I tried again.  I am going to try to call a friend to see if it works, ok?    Yea!  I got through to a friend, and

it appears to be working now, for which i am very thankful, Ferdinand!  I tried again to see if i still get

a dial tone, and i do!  I think it is corrected.  Many thanks!
