The drive motor might be defective. Before replacing the drive motor, first check all of the more commonly defective washer components like the agitator. The agitator might be damaged or stripped away where it connects to the drive system inside. To determine if the agitator is stripped inside remove it from the washer and inspect for damage or wear. If agitatot is okay and it's still clicking, the clutch is dragging causing an extra load on the motor and the motor will click on and off. But a bad wire connection will also make a motor click as well. To determine if the drive motor is defective, first ensure that the motor is getting power. If the drive motor hums but doesn’t run, is noisy, or does not turn freely, replace it. If you need some information on how the parts looks like and get the part numbers please let me know by replying to this message. I will be standing by.

Thanks for the clarification. You mentioned also a ticking noise. Does it come from the control?

If mild humming sound is evident behind the upper control panel in the control switch area, it should point out the Main Timer Switch as the issue mostly a discoloration on the brass contacts which stops the machine from working correctly and producing a faint hum. Please verify if the hum comes from the Main timer switch and if it does this needs to be replaced. If you plan to reuse the switch you will need to be very careful splitting the unit, there are plastic control arms and a couple of gears that are very hard to figure out where they need to go. In reality if you split the unit you will need to have a replacement unit on hand as a replacement. let me know. Thanks
