My furnace will not light, but if I light it manually when it turns on, it will run normally. I have already changed the igniter and that did not fix it. When it kicks on the igniter doesn't spark. My house has 2 furnaces and the igniter will work in the other furnace. Any idea what the issue is?

Either the circuit board or pressure switch is bad

Is there a way I can confirm it is one or the other?

It is best to get a servuce man in perhaps the company that services your furnaces and put what  we call a multi meter to check the resistances  and voltage currant.Or perhaps tty hinking of changing your furnaces yo high egg whites here they have automatic ignition where you don't have to light the pilot light anymore plus you will save on your fuel bill, over a mid eff

I swapped the pressure switch and that did not make a difference.  I also wanted to add that there is no pilot light on this furnace, it is an electric spark igniter.  Also, once the burners are lit, the furnace will function normally until the next time it needs to start.  If it cycles on and the burners are not manually lit, it will continue to run until the thermostat is set to a temperture below the current temperature.   Should the flame sensor shut the furnace off after a certain period when it doesn't detect a flame?  If it is the circuit board, is that something a DIY'er can purchase and change or are special tools/instuments needed?

Sorry my first response had errors in it.But what I meant was maybe looking at a high eff furnace , no pilot light automatic ignition less hassle plus save on your fuel bill, mid which you have is not manufactured anymore

I appreciate the suggestion but I don't have the budget to purchase a new furnace.   Ballpark, how many years does it take to recoup the savings on a high eff?
