Hello John,

After reinstalling the paper there might be a tendency that you were logged out of the register and the receipt printing is disabled. Please checked if you are logged in. Type in your clerk code numbers 1-9 and then press the "CLK#" key to sign in to the register. Once you are signed in check the receipt ON/OFF function through the FUNC/MENU key. Please let me know if you need the steps on seeting the receipt ON by replying to this message. Thanks.

need a little guidance on how to set the receipt on portion of the function key.  I might add that the customer receipt portion is printing fine...it is the journal side that is not printing or advancing...even when the journal feed key is pressed the paper does not move although there is a whirring(for lack of better word) sound.

Thanks for replying. Have you checked if you are using the correct paper roll? The use of any other paper rolls than specified could cause paper jamming, resulting in register malfunction. Please double check if you have the correct paper specification.

Paper specification

Paper width: 57.5 ± 0.5 mm Max. outside diameter: 80 mm Quality: High quality (0.06 to 0.08 mm thickness)

If the paper specification is correct check if the paper is installed correctly:

Please also check the print roller arm of the journal side if it is closed properly you should hear a click when closing it. Check if the paper is properly wind around the spool shaft. Wind the paper two or three turns around the spool shaft. Mount the paper holding plate onto the take-up spool.

Set the spool on the bearing, and press the journal paper feed key   to take up excess slack in the paper.

Once the paper has been correctly installed, Check if the problem has been resolved and let me know. Please also let me know if you need a copy of the operating instructions. Thanks.

verified that we had the right paper...everything is fine until I lock the printer head and then nothing will move...it appears that there is a drive wheel that is part of the printer head-that does not move when I hit journal feed.  The whirring sound is from the pick up spool gear which does spin.  Hope this makes sense.  Am leaving my computer now so I won't get back to you until tomorrow. thanks

Sounds like a hardware issue but often when the printer is not printing, the best thing to do is doing some cleaning and if not advancing there might be shreds of paper that may still remain in the printer. Please try cleaning the Printer (Printer Head/Sensor/Roller) on the jounal side. You can also check for and remove any shreds of paper that may have been stuck in the printer.

1. Select the OFF mode.

2. Remove the printer cover.

3. Lift up the print roller arm.

4. Remove the paper roll

5. Clean the printer head with a cotton swab or soft rag moistened with ethyl alcohol or isopropyl alcohol. Clean the roller and the sensor in the same manner.

6. Check for any shreds of paper stuck in the machine

Reinstall paper roll in the proper position, then press the CL key and let me know this fixes the problem.
