Hello Mary,

Voicemail is an automatic answering service offered by your phone service provider. After you subscribe to this service, your phone service provider’s voicemail system answers calls for you when you are unavailable to answer the phone or when your line is busy. Messages are recorded by your phone service provider, not your telephone.

*99 looks like a comcast voicemail service. To use the voicemail service provided by your phone service provider rather than the unit’s answering system, turn off the answering system first:

Turning the answering system on/off

- On Base unit Press ANSWER ON/OFF to turn off the answering system.

- On Handset Press MENU and #328 then press OFF

NOTE: When the answering system is turned on, the ANSWER ON/OFF indicator on the base unit lights up.

After the Answering system is OFF you can go ahead setup your Providers voicemail service:

There are two ways to set up your voice mail:

Dial *99

From home:

  • Dial *99
  • A tutorial will guide you through the setup of your new voice mail service.   Once you are into the system, listen carefully to the recorded instructions.   You will be prompted to create a password, record your name, and record a  personalized greeting that callers will hear when they reach your voice mail.

Dial your home telephone number

From home:

  • Dial your home telephone number
  • A tutorial will guide you through the setup of your new voice mail service.   Once you are into the system, listen carefully to the recorded instructions.   You will be prompted to create a password, record your name, and record a  personalized greeting that callers will hear when they reach your voice mail.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if the problem has been resolved by replying to this message. Thank you.
