It shows a message saying: this ipad hasn't been backed up for 2 weeks. Backups happen when this ipad is plugged in,locled and connected to wifi. Then there is an ok button to click. but when I click it the screen goes black like it is asleep and I cannot due anything with ipad now as I cannot even turn it off.

Thanks for waiting. As a first step towards resolution, you would need to reset your device so that it will refresh the system files in it. To reset the device please follow the steps below.

  1. Reset the device by holding the sleep/wake button at the top right of the device and the home button at the bottom center of the face at the same time.

  2. Hold them both until you see the screen go black. In some cases, you may need to keep holding them even after the red power off slider appears. If it does, just keep holding it.

  3. Wait until the white Apple logo appears.

  4. When this happens, you can let go - the device is rebooting.

iDevice is basically a small computer. And though it doesn't look like your desktop or laptop, just like those devices, sometimes it needs to be restarted to fix problems

Let me know if the steps helped you resolve the issue. If it hasn't, we will continue troubleshooting to isolate the problem and resolve it.
