ipad message on screen says "iPad Disabled - Connetct to iTunes" I tried rebooting and got same message. Went to iTunes but it would not connect to iPad until I input my passcode on the iPad. I cannot get to the passcode screen because the iPad is "disabled". I think someone may have attempted to access my iPad and was unsuccessful too many times failing to input the correct passcode.

Yes, it is possible that it already locked you out after many failed attemp.
But since we cant go to any settings of your iPad anymore, the only way to fix it is resetting your device to its factory default.But remember that doing this reset will delete all the files that you saved in it like videos, pictures and music. You can restore them only if you were able to back it up or sync it to iTunes before this problem started. If want to continue with the hard reset, follow the steps below.
Make sure that the battery of it has at least 50% charged or if your not sure with it, connect the its battery charger for at least 30 mins.
Your iPad must be ON.
Press and hold down the wake/sleep and home button at the same time until the Apple logo appears. The Apple logo will indicate that the reset is in progress. You can release the buttons once the Apple logo appears and wait for about 5-10 mins.
