Thanks for waiting. While you're reading, your Kindle does not need to connect to a wireless network. Other activities such as shopping in the Kindle Store and purchasing books require a wireless connection.

If you are having a issue on your Kindle that you can't read without Wifi. I need you to turn off your device by pressing and holding the power button and turn it back on. Once the device is ready try to open your books and check if you will be able to access it.

If you received an error please provide it to me so that I can check the cause of the issue. Where did you get the message about the Kindle Drive?

I did what you sdaid ..going to archives and the list of my 4 books ..when i tried to read one ..it immediately said you must connect to a wi fi..

I understand. The books on the Achieve list are registered to your Amazon account. The books on your archives list needs to be downloaded to your Kindle before you will be able to read it. Once you have downloaded it you can now read it without Wifi connection.

Anything else I can assist your with?

Thanks

The 4 Books are not yet downloaded on your Kindle you need to be connected again to Wifi to download it. Don't worry once you have downloaded them on your Kindle you can read them without wifi connection.

To download archived Kindle content from your device:

  • Select "Archived Items" from the Home screen or "View Archived Items" from the menu.
  • Select the item from the Archived Items screen.

Or you can transfer them from your PC to your Kindle. Please follow the steps below.

  • Connect the Kindle to your computer using the USB cable that came with it. Once connected to a computer using a USB cable, your Kindle device will appear in the same location as external USB drives usually appear. For Windows users, this is typically in the "Computer" or "My Computer" menu. For Mac users, the drive will appear on the desktop.
  • Open the Kindle drive. You will see several folders inside, one of which will be named "documents." This is the folder you will move the Books into.
  • Locate the Books file and copy it into the documents folder. You can generally copy files by clicking and dragging the file to the folder.
  • Safely eject your Kindle device from your computer and unplug the USB cable. Your content will appear on the Home screen.

Please let me know if this helps.
