May I know the model number of the Samsung camera/s please? So that I would be able to provide you with the steps on how you can set personal codes on the device. Thank you.

Thank you for the information. Is this the 8 Channel Security DVR with the wireless cameras? Please provide me more details and more description of what you are trying to do so we could narrow down the problem. Thank you.

yes its a 8 channel security DVR with the wireless capability. I can use my Samsung phone or computer to monitor the cameras. This is wireless. but I am trying to stop the recording and its asking me for a password. I never was able to set a password nor setup my wireless capability to my smartphone.

The manual wasn't included in the box. it just had a diagram of how to install the cameras

Thank you for waiting.I believe you are referring to accessing the restricted menu to set the DVR if I got it right. To access a DVR or restricted menu, you should have logged in to the DVR. Please follow these steps to be able to login. If the DVR's default ID and Password wasnt changed, the ID and password is below. I also added the steps:

By default, initial ID and password are set to “admin”, and “4321”.

Steps to login and access the DVR restricted menu:

  1. In live mode, right-click any area of the screen.
You will see the context sensitive menu as in the right
    figure.
  2. Click . The login dialog appears. You can also see the login dialog to access a desired menu by pressing the [menu] button on the remote control.

    • The login dialog will also appear if you press a menu button on
the remote control when the corresponding menu requires
      logging in.

    • After logged in, press [RETURN] on the remote control to display
      the logout dialog.

I hope the information I have provided helps and sorry for the delay. Please know I am still here should you feel the need to contact me for assistance and please do not forget to show your appreciation for my efforts by clicking the green Accept Answer button right below my first response above. Will be waiting for your response. Thank you.

I LIKE THE INSTRUCTIONS TO GET UTILIZE THE WIRELESS ACCESS FOR MY SMARTPHONE.

I AM GOING TO TRY IT NOW.

Posted by Guest 10 months ago

Please do and I also will do my best to find a User Manual for you to use as a guide since you dont have one for the unit. By the way, have you successfully accessed the DVR using the initial ID and password? Note that the default ID is admin and the passcode is 4321.

Can you please tell me more about what you want to do with your Samsung Smartphone and the wireless access? Are you referring to connecting the phone to the wireless network? Please provide me with more details and the model of you phone so I could help. Thank you. Will wait for your response.

MY SMARTPHONE IS SAMSUNG III METROPCS

That's great! Now you can access the DVR, we would move to the next solution concerning your phone and the wireless network connection. If I understood the information correctly, you want to monitor any of the cameras on your Samsung smartphone or a computer with the devices connecting to the DVR through wireless connection, right? The good news is that it is possible using your Samsung Galaxy S III (MetroPCS) Smartphone.

You can monitor any of the cameras at anytime from anywhere in the world on your PC or smartphone. You can also change and set any functions on your DVR remotely from your PC. All you need is a Web Viewer for your PC and a iPOLIS Mobile Viewer for your phone. iPOLIS mobile is smartphone application that enables you to connect to DVR remotely and control the video playback in real time. All you need to do is just download a Software for your Computer and the App for your Smartphone, follow some settings and configuration and thats it.

I already done some research on how you can get the i POLIS app. Just scan the QR code below with your phone to upload iPOLis mobile, the remote viewing app developed by Samsung. or you can also download the app from the app store.

Here's the QR Code:

Heres the link to the app if you want to download it from the store instead:

LINK: iPOLiS mobile

NOTE: The easiest way to get the app is search for it on your Googleplay app on your Samsung phone and download.

The steps in setting the connection of all devices requires configuration which would take me a long time to post here. What I am going to do instead is look for the Users Guide and provide the link for you to download. This way you will have a copy.

I will post the Users Guide link on my next message. I hope the information I have provided gave you an idea. Please wait for the manual on my next message and please do not forget to show your appreciation for my efforts by clicking the green Accept Answer button right below my first response above. Thanks.

OK THANKS, I WILL

Hi, sorry for the wait. As promised, below is the download link for the Manual. Just save it to your computer for you to have your own copy.

LINK: 8 CHANNEL DVR User Manual

NOTE: Dont be confused with the Model Number on the User Guide. The Samsung SDS-V4040 8 Channel system's DVR and the **SDR-4101 8 Channel DVR are the same as shown on the Overview Page (page 10) on the manual.

And to save you some time browsing through the pages, here is the guide on which pages you can get the instructions on setting up Web Viewer and iPOLiS to your devices.

  • Web Viewer setup for PC and Mac and all the steps starts from Page 79
  • Mobile Viewer for Smartphone and all configuration settings at page 104

I hope you're happy with the information and solution that I have provided you. Please let me know If you have any other questions. And if you are satisfied with my assistance in helping you, please show your appreciation for my efforts by clicking the green Accept Answer button right below my first response above. Thank you so much for getting in touch with us.
