Hi,

Thanks for your question. My name is Rofel and I will assist you with your concern.

  1. On the 360 dashboard, scroll over to the "System" tab.
  2. On the System tab, click "Console Settings".
  3. Scroll down in console settings and click "System Info".
  4. When the system info box comes up type in this sequence:

LT RT X Y LB RB Y (using the left joystick) go right ONCE A

or

LT - RT - X - Y - LB - RB - X - Y - A - Up (on the D-Pad)

After all of this is completed, a window should appear asking you if you would like to reset your system settings, press yes.

Hi - thanks but this doesn't work. The info box comes up, we hit those buttons and it remains at the info box. Should there be a box where this information is typed in or just press those buttons when on the screen? I don't know what to do!

Hi,

You just need to type those buttons when you are on the System Info. This will reset the settings on the xbox and it will allows you to setup a new family passcode

You need to press the buttons in order (one by one) not at the same time.

All it does is remain at the system info page and it says currnet settings are Dashboard 2.0.13599.0

Hi,

Please also do try this to reset the console to factory state.

  1. On the 360 dashboard, scroll over to the "System" tab.
  2. On the System tab, click "Console Settings".
  3. Scroll down in console settings and click "System Info".
  4. Write down the serial number
  5. Go to Memory and Select the hard drive Press Y to select the Device Options
  6. Select Format. Make sure you backup all your files on an external drive or flash drive before you format the xbox
  7. Confirm the format and you all set

Well, what you have told me prior to the second last comment did not help at all. My husband was able to recall where the pass code and answer was located and therefore, we were able to use the game. We did not have to use the reset of xbox to factory state because we found our pass code. Thanks for the help - it was appreciated.
