Hello,

Thank you for contacting us through the site. It's my pleasure to assist you.

Try performing a soft-reset and let me know if it doesn't work. Press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons together for 10 seconds and the phone should go black & then display the logo.

Wait about 10 seconds and then press and hold the Power button again to restart.

Respectfully,

Joseph

Sorry but I've already done that to no avail. My laptop can read the phone when LG is displayed on screen and I can get into download mode but can't seem to find proper program or image file to put on phone. Also usb debugging is not marked do to factory reset.

Hello,

Thanks for writing back and letting me know that the previous resolution I gave you didn't work. Try to use the LG mobile tools to flash the stock software back to your phone, but you have to make sure to install the LG drivers for your phone to your computer first.

Let me know if you still have further concerns or questions or this did not work for you.

Kind regards,

Joseph

I have actually tried this tool and and was not successful, I was told that my phone was up to date and was unable to do anything to the phone. Now I am able to get into download mode but no and. Is there a program that I could use in download mode. Thank you.

Hello there,

Thank you for writing back and letting me know that the last procedure did not work.

One last thing you can do is to get into ClockWworkMod. You will need to do a small update. go here:

(ClockworkMod looping after flashing. Download this and flash in recovery

http://www.shabbypenguin.com/OUDstuf...p-DeLooper.zip)

Change the file to update and run it then reboot your phone holding down the keys stated above.

This will get you back to the LG update.

Let me know if this still doesn't work.

Kind regards,

Joseph

Thank you but I cannot get into recovery, the buttons from above take me to a hard reset screen. In which I took advantage of, now kicking myself, because now adb can't see the phone. Not good. I feel the phone is done.

Hello,

Thank you for writing back and letting me know that the previous resolution I gave to you didn't work. I'm afraid that you will need to have the phone replaced already as we've done all possible troubleshooting procedures. If your phone is still under warranty by your service provider, I could provide you with the contact details for their support department if you would let me know who your service provider is. If not, I could send you to the nearest store where you can have your phone replaced, just provide me with your city and zip code.

If you're satisfied with my assistance in helping you identify what the issue was, and how to resolve it, please click on 'Accept' next to my first answer.

Hello,

I'm sorry to hear about your sentiment. You can do a hard reset on your phone. This will reset the phone to factory default settings and erase all user data.

  1. Turn the power off.
  2. Touch and hold the following keys at the same time for 12 seconds: Power/Lock Key + the down Volume Key.
  3. Release the keys when you see the screen message Permanently Erase User Data & Reset Settings?, press the Power Key to confirm and any other key to cancel.
  4. Press the Power/Lock Key to confirm (or press any other key to cancel). When you press the Power/Lock Key to confirm, a pop-up appears asking Are you sure you want to continue with erase?.
  5. Press the Power/Lock Key and your phone will be restored to the factory settings. To cancel, press any other key.

Let me know if this still didn't work for you.

Respectfully,

Joseph

This doesn't work either, phone still gets stuck on LG startup screen. I tried that in the beginning, that's how I lost debugging mode. There has to be another solution to fix this phone.

Hello,

Thank you for writing back and letting me know that the last resolution I gave you still didn't work. I was really hoping it would work for you but since it didn't I believe that the previous phone uploaded an incorrect firmware to the unit, which made you go into recovery mode when you tried to reset the phone to factory default settings.

If you cannot return the phone to the seller, then I would suggest that you bring it to an LG store for repair as I've really already given you all possible solutions.

Please provide me with your city and zip code so I can search for the nearest LG Store for you.

I'll be waiting for your response.

Respectfully,

Joseph

Hello there,

Thank you for writing back and giving me your city and zip code. It seems that there is no specific store where I can direct you to for mobile phones. Please go to http://www.lg.com/us/support-mobile/lg-LGVS840 and click on Schedule a Repair and you will be brought to a page to schedule a repair. Just fill in the details about the phone (it should be a Verizon Phone).

Let me know if you have questions about the form.
