Have you tried accessing the menu by using the TV buttons instead of using the remote. This is one way to check if the problem is your remote control.

The tv remote does not work and neither does the universal remote. There are no buttons on the actual TV.

There should be buttons on the tv if incase the remote will not work. Please check the buttons on the side or at the back of the tv.
