Did you installed any app/software prior to this problem? Please provide me more information on what happened there why you arrived to that error message?

No, I didn't install any software. The problem occurred while I was on Imgur. I surfed for awhile and when I exited the site the problem began. I did a virus sweep with no results. The odd thing about this is that it seems that the message is the only problem. I can hit the OK and then launch any app and uses it even though the screen is dimmed and the message reappears. I can play game or perform other functions but the screen is very dark.

Ok. Please reset your tablet first for our initial troubleshooting.

Press and hold down the power button for 20 secs until the tablt will turn off. Wait for 10 secs then press the power button again to turn it on. Check the issue again after the hard reset.

Another symptom I didn't mention is that the dark screen is not the only problem but the touch screen inoperative as well. Apps that use only the tilt function such a ladybug work fine, have sound etc. But any app that uses the touch screen is inop as long as the error is on the screen. If I touch the "OK" at the bottom of the screen I will have about a second to touch a target , which will work, and then the screen goes dark again and the message reappears.

Ok. Please follow the procedure below:

  1. Touch apps
  2. go to settings
  3. got to back up and reset
  4. click factory date reset
  5. click reset device
  6. select erase everything
  7. wait for the tablet to reboot
  8. test the issue after the reset

Seems to be doing better, lots of setup to do, I'll let you know but it looks like it may be OK. Any idea why this happened? I wouldn't like to have this be a regular event.
