I did what you said but it doesn't power back on. Do I need to do anything else besides holding the sleep/wake button and the home button. The white Apple logo did not appear.

This did not take care of the problem. Now what??

Please connect the cable directly to the USB port of the computer and not through an extension USB hub for at least 30 minutes. Make sure it is firmly connected to the USB port. After 30 minutes try the steps on my previous message and let me know what happens.
