Freezer is good, fresh food side is warm. Condenser fan is running but evaporator fan is not. Fan in the fresh food side is not. I have 12 volts DC from the mother board but not at the fan motor connector? I tried a new mother board and got the same result.

Ruled out the mother board. Condenser coil is clean, and it's fan is turning. Compressor is running fine. The fan motor in the freezer and in the fresh food side are not turning. I have 12vdc output at the mother board to these fan motors but not at the fan motor connectors through the harness. I would ohm out the fan motors and the thermistors if I could get those values from you. I am sure that this problem is caused by a lack of air flow. The freezer temp is running around 5 above zero and the fresh food side at 50 .

All Samsung refrigerators require a minimum clearance of 2 inches behind the unit.

Note: When it comes to clearance around the fridge, More clearance is better than less. If air does not circulate enough, the condenser will overheat, and the refrigerator will not cool properly.

Lower the temperature control settings in the refrigerator and freezer. Let the refrigerator run for several hours and then re-check the temperature. The ideal temperature settings for the Side By Side refrigerator are -2°F (-18°C) for the Freezer and 38°F (3°C) for the Fridge.

alt text

To adjust the temperature, follow these steps:
Important: On models with touch sensitive displays, touch the words "Freezer" and "Fridge", not the icon or numbers.

  1. Verify the display is not in child lock mode. Click here to see how.
  2. Press the Freezer button repeatedly to cycle through the available temperature settings.
  3. Press the Fridge button repeatedly to cycle through the available temperature settings.

Note:

• The temperature controls on some models are labeled "Freezer Temp." and "Refrigerator Temp." However, they control the temperature the same way as the buttons described above.
• When the temperature setting that you want is displayed, do not touch the Fridge button again.
• If you accidentally touch the button too many times, passing the desired temperature, press the button repeatedly until the settings cycle through again.

I hope this helps. Please know I am still here should you feel the need to contact me for assistance.

By the way, If your fan is not working check the power wires going to the fan motor with your meter on AC volts. If you are getting power to the fan and it is not working then the fan is bad. Your condenser fan always runs when the compressor is running, it never turns off unless the compressor turns off.

If you wish to test the motor anyway, set the meter to the diode tester setting. This is the setting with the symbol that looks like this:

alt text

Touch the 2 leads together and it should make a beep if it is digital meter, if it is a needle meter the needle should sweep all the way over. Now take your leads and touch one lead to each fan wire. If you don't get a beep, or your needle doesn't move that means your motor has an open winding ( burnt out ) and is bad.
