My Whirlpool dishwasher start light is blinking. It will run a partial cycle sporadically but it will not finish a complete cycle. What can I do?

May I know th exact model of your Whirlpool dishwasher? 

thank you for providing the exact model. Did you noticed how many times that the start light will blink? 

Ok. Please try to reset the dishwasher by turning off the breaker for 20 secs. Turn it back on and test the issue again. 

Ok. If the console is not responding after the reset then the problem is the control board. The board needs to be replaced Marty?

Is the unit still in warranty?

I see. I checked the control board board and the cost of that part is $186 minus the labor cost. Its your decision if you will buy that part and pay for the labor or just get a new one. I believe adding few dollars to th price of the board can get you a brand new one.

If you will have to ask me, I suggest to replace the whole unit if the cost of the part is like getting a brand new one.
