not working
Hi Lester,
Does the LCD even turn on? I mean do you get images on the LCD?
I do
So Technically the Camera has power,
When you say it is not working, You mean it is not taking photos or it is not shooting when you press the shoot button?
Yes, it is not shooting when I push the shoot button. Pushing that button part way is supposed to cause it to focus, ans it does focus. I have pushed the reset that is next to the connector. Because the reset is in a hole, I used a pin to press the reset. All the reset did was destroy the clock setting. I have rest the clock.
Can you try this, Press the menu button and it will go to setting setting, and navigate to the Pencil Icon to the left, Like in this picture
Let me know once you are there.
At pencil
Can you try selecting Reset and Saying Yes to it once it ask for confirmation.
After That can you try adjusting your Shooting Dial to Auto.
Now Try shooting and Let me know what happen.
Any Update?
Still won't shoot.
I See,
Can you try this then,
Look for the info button and the Zoom+ button
Press and hold both buttons at the same time and keep it held down for 5 sec.
The LCD screen should flash off briefly.
After 5sec Try shooting again. and Let me know
Still won't shoot.
Does your Lens have a Focus switch? like this?
Can you try selecting it into Manual focus or Auto See what setting will make the camera shoot?
Any update Lester?
It will shoot only with manual focus. I have tried both multiple times.
Is this a new Lens?
It is the original lense that came with the camera several years ago.
Try to Remove and Reattach the Lens and make sure it is seated properly.
And make sure you are shooting in a proper light condition.
The problem I'm seeing is your auto focus. when you are in auto focus, when the camera detect or mistakenly detect that it is not focused, It will not shoot.
Try the steps above and let me know.
The lens doesn't seem to come off. There is no gap which I presume is evidence that it is seated properly. Until yesterday, it functioned in automatic focus.
Do I need to reset the menu back to where it was?
When you pressed the Reset pin button, It already did alreset option to factory settings.
I would suggest try removing the Lens and reconnecting it.
Thank you
Were you able to remove it?
Hi Lester,
Again please try removing or Reconnecting the Lens and Try.
If that will not work, I would suggest trying another Lens And try the Auto focus.
If both a known working lens will not work as well. I would suggest to have the Camera Check / Cleaned.
The issue is the camera either not locking the focus or mistakenly recieving a non focus and refuses to shoot.
This also the reason why the camera shoots in Manual. Since Manual settings will let the camera shoot even out of focus.
Hi Lester,
