Hello Jeff... how are you doing?
Is the check engine light on the dash on Jeff?
it came on once, but now it does not.
Thank you for that information. As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you remove the positive battery connector and let it sit for 5 minutes before reconnecting it. Let's see if resetting the system resolves it.
If the problem still persist, I'm suspecting a failing / dirty fuel pump. This is a common issue that when the fuel pump fails the vehicle shuts because there is no continuity of fuel supply to the engine. Rest it for a while and it will work just fine but eventually it will shut again. This will require fuel pump replacement Jeff.
It is best that you have the vehicle scanned for fault though I suspect a failing fuel pump. Let's just hope that resetting the system resolves it to cut the expense. Having the vehicle scanned will narrow down the search Jeff.
Is there anything else I can add or help you with jeff?
How's the rpm by the way? Is the idle normal?
the truck idles and runs great. it just stalls while traveling down the road and usually starts up on its own as long as you leave it in gear. it seams like you shut the key off and then turn it back on.
Thank you for that information.... the fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator can be the culprit Jeff which will require replacement but it's best to have it scanned for fault. Is there anything else I can help you with Jeff?
