Hello Joe... how are you doing?
May I ask if it has a history of shift cable replacement Joe... I'll be standing by for your response. Thank you
No...the shift cable never been changed nor had any mechanical work performed aside from scheduled lube services. The car is due for lube service (75,000 kms) atm though. Could it be that the transmission fluids may need topping up or replacing?
I see... I strongly suggest a transmission fluid replacement and observe how it goes, most of the time it is just caused by a dirty/burnt transmission fluid. If it's doing the same try to have the shifter cable adjusted or replace if necessary. If it's still doing the same after all the procedure, you may need to have it scanned to trace the fault and narrow down the possibilities of repair.
Is there anything else I can add or help you with Joe? I'll be standing by for your response. Thank you
