the only lights on are the rear lights-tail lights

Ok David... the problem here will be on the brake light switch located on the brake pedals. It surely is stuck that's why the tail lights are always on.

Below is what it looks like David

my wife just informed me that by no action by me the lights are out. She told me as I was reading your response.Thanks.

we discovered my wife did not see them go out. The battery died overnight and the AAA guy checked ad adjusted the brake light switch.
