Hello Larry
How are you doing? May I ask when was the last time you replaced the battery? I strongly suggest that you remove the negative battery connector and let it sit for 5 minutes before reconnecting it. Let's see if resetting it will resolve the issue. I'll be standing by for your response and goodluck!
Thank you
Relly
Thanks. I am away from home this morning. Will try it later today. This car is new to us as we bought it from a friend a few weeks back so I am not sure of the battery age (now replaced recently however). I should also note a few dash lights appeared (VSC light) and stay on.
Good to hear from you Larry... by the way, there was a recall on the GX 470 7 or more years ago regarding the sidemirror issue. The sidemirror actuators are replaced along with the side mirror ECU. But in your case it's like more than that. Can you drive the Lexus with no problem?
Yes. no issues driving the car
Ok Larry that's good. Here's what you have to do. First, remove the negative battery connector and let it sit for 5 minutes before reconnecting it. This will reset the system and can get it back to it's normal operating state. If the problem persist, I strongly suggest to take it to an auto shop near you and run an engine / system scan. During the scan, it will determine parts or sensors that will require replacement. If there are no parts to be replaced, the scanner itself can do the resetting on your ECU (car's brain) for it to get rid of the issue.
Is there anything else I can add or help you with Larry?
Ok I will do those things. Should be goods. Thanks for the advice

Disconnecting the battery did not work. I did take it to an Autozone. They ran a diagnostic and found a sensor error related to traction control. They checked the battery - it is 56 months old but passed all the diagnostic tests and confirmed it is in good working order
When I told them the symptoms
Clock resets to 1:00 everytime the car is started
VSC and VSC off remains illuminated on the dash board
driver side power window is only one working
Car needs to be running for the power door locks to work
outside rear view morrors do not function
They seem to think the sensor is not the problem.
I am headed out to the another car parts shop to see if they get the same diagnostic error
Hello Larry
Looking for a second opinion will be a great idea. If everything else fails, the problem can rely on the BCM (body control module). It controls all of the electrical system in the vehicle. It may not be giving the right command that's why the car is failing. The scan helped on where to start. I'll be standing by for the next result Larry.
Thank you
Relly
Thanks Relly. I took the car to Auto Zone they did not see any error codes. Do you think I should buy a BCM and install it myself at this point or take it to a repair facility
You're most welcome Larry. I strongly suggest that you take it in to another auto repair shop before purchasing a new BCM. They may find something else. Thank you so much Larry and goodluck!
