Hello James
How are you doing? Is it a horizontal line you see on the monitor? I'll be standing by for your response.
Thank you
Relly
May I ask the exact year model of your Traverse as well... I'll be standing by for your response.
Thank you
Relly
2017 lines are up and down
when can you call ***-***-****
Hi James
Sorry I can't make a call at the moment but if it's ok we can continue to chat. I'll just forward the phone upgrade to the billing dept. for a refund. But can you still use the head unit? Are the lines interferring with the video?
Relly
yes nothing but lines
Ok... can you access the vehicle at the moment James? I will have to ask you to remove the negative battery connector and let it sit for 5 minutes before reconnecting it. Start the vehicle and let's see if the reset procedure works. I'll be standing by. Thank you
not around it but disconnected positive earlyer for ten minutes no change
Ok James... there are earlier clients that has a display issue in my shop. I adviced them to take it back to dealership for the warranty. This has been happening since last year James.
It's like that there's a batch of lemon head units
Is there anything else I can add or help you with James?
any other solutions dealer says he thinks window tinter responssible
And they may say that it's an interference issue
Will it work when you back up?
they said it was excessive pressure on sreen no not when backing
Ok, have you tried their suggestion yet James?
I dont think tinter did anything I was there
That's what I'm thinking as well James
Yours have an 8 icons right?
this yours?
Is there some kind of documetation of these lemon head units. Would disconnecting mirror with key on effect it ? Thats all I saw at tinters.
look like it
Wait James... the mirror was removed while it's on ON position? That you mean?
yes key was on
Not a proper way to do it James. It can be the cause. We usually remove the negative battery connector during the procedure to avoid electrical problems.
what do you think tinter or lemon
can it be reprogrammed
I'm thinking both but we have to stick on one. Tell the dealer that everything was done properly during the tinting procedure. The negative battery was even removed before tinting. Please tell them that there must be a problem with the stereo. I'm gonna give you few links where you can find similar issue of failing head units
This is one thread from 2014... I'm just looking for the 2017
You see buttons underneath the mirror right?
yes
Ok, I'm just gonna list something and hopefully does the trick... if not then let's go for the lemon decision. Please wait
dont have car here but will try when I can
You do see a button with an image of a man sitting with waves?
Like a circle image with a man sitting with wave lines button
I think it has maybe four buttons
what about buttons? I can copy and try later.
Ok.. but there's a button there like the one on the farther left right on the image below
It's from a camaro though. I want you to start the vehicle and turn the head unit On. After that, press the button with a man sitting and the system will talk. Right after the system talk just wait a second then press it again. Let's see if it will get rid of it
I mean farther left, the first button.
You see it?
wish it was here
Alright.. you can try that later. But if this doesn't get rid of the lines then go to the dealers for a warranty... lemon unit decision James so that the fault will not be on our end during the tinting process. Is that alright?
I will try please try to e mail the links you mentioned Thanks for your help.
