Hello Joe

How are you doing, hope everything is well. Do you mean that it runs by itself once the gear is engaged? And this will happen even you are stepping on the brakes? I'll be standing by for your response.

Thank you

Hello Joe

Glad to hear back from you. Did you try to keep the engine warm first before shifting the gear? You may try to warm the engine for 5 minutes atleast before getting it to gear. When the engine is cold it tends to have high rpm that when put in gear the car may move even on brakes.

You may want to remove the negative battery connector as well and let it sit for 10 minutes or more before reconnecting it. You may need to reset the ECM (car's computer) as well to get rid of this problem totally.

Hope this helps and I'll be standing by for your response.

Thank you

Unfortunately it is after it been running for a while it does the surge. When I store the car in the winter I take the battery out of the car and go thru the instructions in manaul to reinstall it, so i don't think that is the problem.

Thank You

Oh I see... but this will not happen everyday right? This unintended acceleration has been an issue for quite some time. Have you tried having the vehicle scanned for fault code Joe to know if there's any transmission solenoid or sensor that will require replacement.

You're most welcome Joe. But these cars that has the same issue being brought in our shop. We advised them to have the ECM (car's computer) resetted using an OBD tool and it did resolved the issue. It's better late than never Joe. Today's vehicles are ran by computer and sensors and resetting will get rid of the issue. Is there anything else I can add or help you with Joe?
