Ok, you have the sirius xm satellite radio? Will it receive a signal when you restart the vehicle or do you have to refresh the system manually to have  a signal?

Customer

I have to get a refresh signal for the radio to work

Ok Ted, can you access the vehicle?

Great... I will have to ask you to remove the negative battery connector and let it sit for 5 minutes or more before reconnecting it. This will reset the radio's system and can get it back to it's normal operating state. You will need to get a refresh signal again and then try turning off the vehicle. To test, start the vehicle and check if the radio is good. I'll be standing by for the result. Goodluck Ted!

Ok Ted, I will have to ask you to take it to the dealership. Two things I suspect, it's either there's a faulty chipset in the radio that needs to be fixed to retain the memory when the car is off (can be loosing current/voltage supply to the radio) or it may need a software upgrade to resolve the issue. Is there anything else I can add or help you with Ted?

Customer

yes I agree its likey the memory is the problem. thanks anyway for your help.

Dear Ted, It was a pleasure helping you with your BUICK issue today. Here is a summary of the resolution.

Issue identified : XM radio resets every after the car is turned off
Solution Implemented : Performed radio reset but to no avail. Adviced cx a visit to the dealership for software upgrade or possible chipset failure that fails to restore memory.
