Hello Bill,

There could be plenty of reasons for getting the process system isn’t responding error. Most of the times, it happens whenever a device is restarted after updating its Android version. Your device could have undergone a bad update or might have had an unsupported driver. This can result in the occurrence of process system not responding issue.

Users have also complained that they receive the process system isn’t responding Android error after installing a new app. If you have installed an app from a source other than Google Play Store, then chances are that you can get this error. Though, even after installing an app from Play Store, there is a bleak probability of facing this issue as well.

process system isn't responding

Low system storage is another reason for getting the error. If you have too many apps on your phone, then it might take a toll on its memory and generate the “process system isn’t responding” prompt. Please read the first steps below to overcome this issue. We have listed a handful of them in this post.

SOLUTION TO TRY:

  • If you are getting this error on your phone, then try to manually restart your device as a first step in troubleshooting. The way to restart your phone might differ from one device to another. Mostly, it can be done by long-pressing the power button.  The tab should turn OFF. Once it is OFF turn it on again by pressing the power button for a few seconds.
  • If you are still getting the process system isn’t responding Android error, then chances are that there could be an issue with your SD card. Firstly, check if your SD card is working fine or not by removing it and turning the device on. If it is corrupted, then get another memory card for your device. Also, it should have a prominent amount of free storage. You might be facing this issue if the SD card has limited free space.

Let me know if this works or not by replying to this message. I will provide more solutions if the first step does not work. I will be waiting for your response. Thanks

Hello Bill,

Thanks for replying and sorry for the delay. I have 2 more options that we could try to get rid of the  “process system isn’t responding” But before doing these steps try to a few more restarts. Sometimes, the fix to the “process system isn’t responding” error is to simply restarting your device. If you can, it is advisable to also drain the capacitors in order to achieve a clean boot-up by multiple restarts. If you still get the same error or the device is still locked up proceed with the steps below.

1. WIPING CACHE PARTITION:

Let’s try wiping the cache partition of the SAMSUNG T820 Galaxy Tab S3 and see if the issue isnt resolved by restarting. Keep in mind that wiping the cache partition won’t delete any personal data from your device. The data that will be deleted is just temporary system & apps files. All your app data will be deleted, but Google Play Store will automatically restore it as you use them again.

Follow the steps below to hard reset your SAMSUNG T820 Galaxy Tab S3.

  1. Begin by holding down the Power key for a short while in order to turn off the SAMSUNG T820 Galaxy Tab S3.
  2. Next, press and hold simultaneously the Volume Up + Home + Power button for a few momements.HardReset SAMSUNG T820 Galaxy Tab S3
  3. You should release held keys as soon as the Samsung Logo appears on the screen or release the other buttons when you see the Android System Recovery Screen.
  4. Afterwards select by using the Volume down key to navigate down and highlight wipe cache partition.
  5. Press the Power button to select it.
  6. Wait for the process to complete. Your device will restart at the end of it OR when the Recovery Mode appears again select reboot system now.

NOTE: As stated earlier, you will now lose all of your app data and will need to install all of your crucial apps all over again. This should be effective in solving the process system isn’t responding issue, but if it doesn’t, a Hard Reset is needed to be done.

2. LAST OPTION (HARD RESET):

NOTE: Hard resetting your SAMSUNG T820 Galaxy Tab S3 clears all the data in your device. As a matter of fact, hard resetting solves many of the most common issues with the Android. However, note that this step does end up causing you to lose all of your files and app data. If doing a simple restart and wiping the cache partition still gives you the same error, this step should put back the device to its normal operation, if theres nothing wrong with the hardware.

  1. Begin by holding down the Power key for a short while in order to turn off the SAMSUNG T820 Galaxy Tab S3.Hard Reset SAMSUNG T820 Galaxy Tab S3
  2. Next, press and hold simultaneously the Volume Up + Home + Power button for a few momements.HardReset SAMSUNG T820 Galaxy Tab S3
  3. You should release held keys as soon as the Samsung Logo appears on the screen.
  4. Afterwards select "wipe data / factory reset" by using Volume buttons to navigate and Power key to confirm.Remove screen password SAMSUNG T820 Galaxy Tab S3
  5. In the next step choose "Yes -- delete all user data" to confirm whole operation.Wipe data SAMSUNG T820 Galaxy Tab S3
  6. When the Recovery Mode appears again select "reboot system now".Master Reset SAMSUNG T820 Galaxy Tab S3
  7. The restoring operation will be done as soon as SAMSUNG Welcome Panel pops up. This may take a few minutes too.
  8. Once done the device should be on its factory state and should be working this time.

I hope one of the steps above fixes the problem. Please let me know if you the problem has been fixed or not by replying to this message. I will be waiting for your response. Thanks.

Hello Bill,

Thanks for replying and sorry for the delay. Below are instructions on how to remove the card from the SAMSUNG T820 Galaxy Tab S3.. Your SD card might just be the reason why the “process system isn’t responding” error appears. If your SD card has malfunctioned or it simply has some bad sectors that prevent the system from accessing the required information, it can trigger this error.

Try to access and remove the card by following the steps below and proceed with restart.

1. Insert the ejection pin into the hole on the tray to loosen the tray. Ensure that the ejection pin is perpendicular to the hole. Otherwise, the device may be damaged.

microSD 1

2. Pull out the tray gently from the tray slot.

microSD 2

3. Place a memory card on the tray right with the gold-coloured contacts facing downwards.

4. Gently press the memory card into the tray to secure it.

microSD 3

5. Insert the tray back into the tray slot.

microSD 4

Note: Fully insert the tray into the tray slot to prevent liquid from entering your device.

NOTE: If there is no SD card present on the device after checking, proceed with the steps in Wiping Cache and Factory reset on my last message. Thanks.
