and you've tried switching from different channels ?  If you cable box is using HDMI connection (default) the input source should be set to HDMI using your TV remote (AV button)

Customer

Yes, I've tried channels 2 through 10 or 11 but always received the same message.  It does have a HDMI cable, when I click on HDMI input I get 10 different options - None, Recorder, DVD, SAT, Game, Digital STB, PVR, HD, Cable, Other. Some of these I can eliminate but not sure which one is correct. I've tried all but no luck.

It should be set to "Cable" since you are connected to a set top box.  Do you have a separate remote for the cable box for you to change channels or you've been using the TV remote to watch  and change channels?

Customer

OK, I'll set it to cable. Separate remote for normal viewing.

OK. Let me know. I'll be standing by.

Still no luck.  I ran through the channels again (1 thru 9) and the only difference was when I entered 5, in addition to "channel not available" there was also a message "HD02".  Does that mean anything?

did you use to the cable remote to change channel?

Posted
Customer

No, I'm using the TV remote.  The cable remote will only turn the TV on and off and will adjust the volume (the volume indicator pops up on the screen)

It seems that its a problem with your cable box as the TV is the output source. Is the cable box  connected to other TVs too?

Posted
Customer

I have 4 TV's on the system, the one with the problem is one of the remote units.  The TV that is connected to the primary box and the other 2 remote TV's are working properly.

Alright. is the this how your the non working  TV connected to the cable box?

Posted
Customer

Yes, with HDMI cable.

Customer

OK, I found the problem.  I used the channel buttons on the side of the TV rather than using the remote.  Apparently this also changed the input to the correct setting, so I'm good to go.

I thought you were using the TV remote earlier when changing channels

I was but decided to try the TV buttons.  Apparently I hit the button while moving it earlier today.

Thanks for your help! Have a nice evening. I'm clicking the accept answer tab now.
