I went to the Mac store to resolve a problem with my iPhone.  They told me I needed to request activation lock removal and would need to provide my proof of purchase.  I hope you can help me with this.

OK. In case we get disconnected, Is  ***-***-**** the best number to reach you?

Posted
Customer

It is the correct number but I can't use it.  My iphone is not operational and I have no other phone.

I'm asked to enter the password that was used to set up my iphone. I don't know it.

Customer

Are you still with me?

If it's an activation lock screen . It wioll be asking you to enter the Apple ID and password used to setup the Iphone but since you already  reset the password  you should start using the new password together with your r**e@aol.com Apple ID.

Can you provide me the exact word it gives once you try to sign in with your Apple ID and password?

Posted
Customer

It tells me to enter the passcode that was previously used to unlock this iPhone.  The people at the Mac store said I would need to supply you with a proof of purchase # for activation lock removal.

OK. Passcode is the 4 or 6 digit number you use everytime you will get into your phone and it's different from a password.  You don't remember setting up a passcode?

Posted
Customer

I think I know it:  5103

OK. If the phone is asking for the passcode, use the 4 digit number you've setup. If its asking for a password, it should be your apple ID password.

Posted
Customer

It appears to be asking for 6 digits; I entered 4 and nothing happens.
