We have a Sharp Aquos 32 inch TV(LC-32GP1U) which we purchased from Best Buy in May of 2008.
About 1 year ago I connected the TV audio to our stereo system (located close to the TV) using RCA cable with plugs. The audio from the stereo has worked periodically, but not always. So I have cleaning the RCA plus and the stereo and TV terminals in hope of improving the reliability of the system. This worked for a week or so, but the sounds still cuts out, and lately never comes on thru the stereo. So, I changed the connecting cable to a digital optical cable thinking it would provide better reliability.
I have changed the stereo system settings to the digital optical input terminal but are having difficulty finding how to change the TV out audio signal. The Sharp operations manual says to press MENU, then select Audio Setup </>, then select either PCM or Dolby Digital. However, when I do this, Audio Setup is not available. There is an Audio option which provides settings for treble, bass, balance, surround, subwoofer and reset.
I would appreciate your comments and suggestions.
