I have a 1/2 wild cat 2 yr old, who I captured and put with my 2 other cat in my house apx 1 /2 yr ago, she adapted well till last month she was out on my screened in porch and some birds came through a hole in the top and she captured one and ate it, after that she turned wild and started fighting with my other cats, she got bit in the hind end and it got infected, I fought and captured her and took her to the Vet. the Vet gave me some meds to put in her food but when she taste it she refuses to eat it. do U know what I can do because I can not touch her. and I do not want to Fight here again, Is there a dart gun I can use.

You may be able to ask your vet for a medication such as Gabapentin to help calm her down enough to get her back to the vet, and then possibly have them use an injectable antibiotic such as Convenia, so you don't have to use the oral medications. Convenia lasts two weeks. I'm not sure if you have those options in Canada, but it's worth a try. You may want to try canned food if you aren't already, to try and entice her to eat it.

Also, there are pheromone sprays and plug ins called Feliway (I am in the U.S. so again, not sure if this option is available where you are) that may help calm her while she is in the house, hopefully enough to handle her or help keep the peace once she's healed.

Another option would be to see if the vet can have the medication compounded. Most compounding pharmacies can change the flavor of the medications to ones that are more appealing to cats.

I would suggest maybe a mobile vet that can come to you, and in the meantime corral her into a small room. They may be able to bring the injectable antibiotic, and you can use a large blanket to toss over her to catch her. This is what we do in the clinic for cats that are not easily handled. Ideally she would get the medications, but worse comes to worst if the wound is mild, you may be able to keep a close eye on it and just see how it does without meds. Without seeing it of course I don't know the severity of it, so that would be up to you.

You may also be able to use a larger dog crate as opposed to a small cat carrier- start feeding her in the crate to more or less trick her into going in there, and use that to transport to the vet if you have to. Her only option may end up just being injectable medications.

Have you tried mixing the gabapentin with a little tuna juice? Sometimes that works as well!
