Hi Ramy not on freeway am at home no codes but wrench showed up then went away when I did hard acceleration also wrench went away after I shut off vehicle and restated but problem was still present ... no check engine light or service soon or od light flash or anything

Thank you for your response. The first thing I will do is to check the transmission fluid, You’ll need to check it while the truck is running and the transmission is warm, usually a 1 - 2 mile drive is enough to warm it. If the fluid is low, top it off. Likewise if it’s overfilled, drain some out. If the fluid is brown or smells burnt, it needs to be changed. If the fluid is foamy and thick, then there's engine coolant or water in your transmission fluid. Second you need to have it scan using a OBD 2 scanner to make sure to get the correct error code so you can determine what is the correct parts need to be replace. But what I can suggest you and first thing I will do is that I will change the transmission fluid. When was the last time you change your transmission fluid?

Have an obd2 scan tool ... no codes ,stored codes , or pending codes , fluid is good and is not burnt or foamy or low was changed 30,000 miles ago

I have 130,000 miles on truck and has not had any concerns and I do all the regular maintenance on veh as is needed in service manual. Truck has been amazing until tonight.

I see. Can you try to remove the negative connection on the battery for about 5 minutes and then connect it back again and have it run for 15 minutes. Check if the wrech icon will appear again. And then if it will not appear drive the truck 2 blocks and se if there is any changes. I will be standing by for your updates.

Then wrench light is actually for needs maintenance to be done on your truck like need to check the engine and transmission fluids but since you told me everything is still good I think its just needs a reset. Advise me what will be the result. I will be standing by.

Ok did it and when I test drive it it’s like there is no second gear just goes from first to 3rd or fourth and kinda shifts hard I can really feel it and if I slow down to around 5 mph but don’t stop it chugs like it’s gonna die and it is really lugged down when I go to accelerate. Manual second seems to work. Still no lights and no codes and the wrench did not come on either .

There is no hesitation or freewheel when it shifts from first can tell it is much higher gear as the rpms drop below 1,000

I see. We check everything that it will possibly causing this issue. But what I can suggest you is to have it change the transmission fluid first and see if there is any changes after that. But if you will still be getting the same issue what I can recommend you is to have the transmission check and try the following option below.

  • Drop the transmission pan and valve body and check  for any debris and clogs.
  • Check the Transmission pressure. Listed below what cause the result of the pressure of the transmission and needs to be check.
