Make sure first that the Wireless feature is enabled on the printer. See procudere below to turn on wireless capability.
Check again if the computer will detect the printer.

Issue identified : cx cant connect to the apple router using his HP printer
Solution Implemented : provided cx steps to turn on the wireless capability of the printer (steps below). cx followed the steps and printer was able to detect by the router. problem solved.
