Also,  Is it blinking yellow continuously? Or is it blinking some yellow flashes, pausing then blinking red?

Alright,.  Have you tried completely removing the lamp, then carefully reinserting it to make sure it's pushed in all the way?  Either  you have a broken sensor switch, or the lamp is not engaging the switch. Unplug the TV from power, then carefully remove the lamp and inspect the housing to make sure there are no broken pieces on the plastic. Then re-insert the lamp and make sure it is pushed in all of the way and secure. Then securely close the Lamp cover and plug the set back in. Power up the TV and let me know if anything changes.

I now have a green light but it goes off and still wont come on

Turn off the TV then unplug it for 30 seconds then plug it back in and turn it back on. Change also the input selection to a different input and then put it back again to the normal input you are using. Let me know if there's any changes.
