the DMR just will not let me complete the setup and says it is not complete at the black cable box also the set up has a monitor in the upper left hand corner and will try to test to see if there was a change to another channel but the monitor stays black. Also I have the "g-link" installed.
Will it be the a first time setup for the DMR with your glink installed?
yes and one tech I know says that Spectrum black boxes might not work so well.

Hi William,
Below is the connection of the DMR EH75 to the TV and Cable Box. If your Spectrum Cable Box is only using an HDMI (Digital signal) the DMR EH75V model only support Analog signal and will not work. Also, you won't be able to feed any HD signals from the STB to the DVDR.
If your TV and Spectrum box has the option to use the RCA then you can proceed by following the connection diagram below. You may try an adapter like an AV RCA (input) to HDMI (output) adapter to convert the analog to digital signal or the last option is to use a new digital recorder equipment that supports digital recording.
