2003 BMW 320D, when I came home tonight the brake lights and interior lights where on and the battery dead, and lights where on on the dashboard
Thank you for your response. Can you check the battery connector. Make sure it is properly connected. And try to disconnect the battery positive connector for 5 mins and then connect it back after 5 minutes and then start the car and while the car is running check if the break light is on.
I can't get the battery disconnected thanks anyways if I can get the battery charged I will take it to a garage tomorrow
No worries. I will leave this page open and will wait for your update.
When your headlights suddenly stop working, things can get very dangerous in a big hurry. But headlights can also fail in the other direction. Far from a fail safe, headlights that won't turn off, no matter what you do, can quickly Drain your battery and leave you stranded.
With that in mind, the short term solution for headlights that won't turn off is to take emergency preventative measures to keep the 🔋 battery from going dead. This can be accomplished in a handful of different ways:
01. Disconnect the 🔋 battery
02. Remove the headlight fuse
03. Remove the headlight relay l.p.
Your headlight should now be disconnected.
Please take note this are quick fix, to prevent your headlights from draining the battery
If a bad headlight is a reason that your headlights won't turn off, then the fix there is also to just replace the relay..
If you aren't able to identify the malfunctioning component yourself, then your best bet is to disable the headlights by disconnecting the battery or removing the the appropriate fuse.. Waiting for daylight and then taking your car to a trusted mechanic

What type of a car is it as most cars differ in their operating systems. If its a Vw most probably your light's control switch is damaged on the inside. Remove it and check for damages and replace if possible
