I have an LG direct drive washing machine. I cannot seem to do laundry without the steam cycle. I’m afraid to put my delicates in it until I have it figured out. And yes I have used the permanent press on the other side of the dial, which is supposed to be the “non” steam side.

I’m afraid to use the delicate cycles and wash my wools. I don’t trust that it won’t steam them.

the options highlighted in selector knob's  red strip will automatically use the steam option  .Make  sure not to choose the highlighted options

and make sure NOT  to choose or  press the STEAM button.

You should be able to wash the delicates without the   steam feature. Let me know if it helps.

Yes. I have done both of those thing. I am using the permanent press which is on the side of the dial that is not supposed to have steam, I also make sure the steam is not selected and I select a cold wash to hopefully prevent it and it is STILL steaming my clothes.

Just to isolate the problem  Also, can you also tell me  how are you able to say that the cycle you choose uses steam even though the steam is not selected whenever you wash?

Well I suppose I am assuming it but generally when I wash in cold water in other machines the clothes aren’t smoking and hot like they are when I take them out of this one.
