Ok Do you know what your Apple ID is?
I had what I thought was my ID but it has been rejected. I tried to get a new one, in vain
are you seeing an Activation lock on that part?

where it is asking for your password?
Are you locked up of your device or are you just using the apple id and password for apps?
I need the ID & password for upgrading.
I changed it on January 19 and made a note...
When I try to get a new one on lne I get the runaround.

On my MacBook Air
I go to the page https://appleid.apple.com/#!&page=signin and it accepts my e-mail address as the ID but the apssword is incorrect.

I get as far as "Look for a notification shown on your screeen" but nothing is shown!

Assisted customer in requesting for account recovery thru iforgot.apple.com
Account recovery prompted 24 hours to successfully resetting the password.
Call customer again and successfully changed the password for his apple ID - Issue resolved
Assisted customer to his other computer about update problem.
Not updating.
The problem was the version of the imac is too old and will not find a newer version.
Customer decided to just get a new machine.
