Have you already tried Restarting the Kindle?
Hello I have tried restarting several times but no luck

Did you do the holding power button and choosing restart until you get the Kindle message?
I have tried holding down the Start button and Cancel or Shutdown appears but nothing to say Restart

Dear Grace, It was a pleasure helping you with your Kindle issue today. Here is a summary of the resolution.
Issue identified :
Keyboard not working - error about swype not working and ivona Error
Solution Implemented :
Call customer
Tried going into settings > applications and cleared the data and cache of swype
Restarted the Kindle but still the same problem.
Assisted customer in REsetting the Kindle to Factory defaults.
Then Assisted customer in resetting up the Kindle.
Keyboard is now working and synced to her Amazon account
Issue resolved
