Hi Alexander.

Try to perform a soft reset on the ipod by pressing and holding down the power button at the top then slide the slider to turn it off. Wait for 10 secs then press the power button again to turn it on. Wait for the ipod to reboot then check the issue again.

are you trying to watch youtube videos?

ok. lets try to uninstall and reinstall your youtube app. Press and hold down the youtube app on your ipod until the apps will shake. You will see an X button on top of the app. Press on the X button to delete the app. Go to the apps store after deleting the youtube app then search then download the youtube app from the appstore by doin a search. Try to open again the you tube app after reinstalling.

were you able to uninstall youtube and reinstall it from the ipod?

ok. lets try different approach. Do this steps.

Tap Settings icon on your ipod then scroll down and look for Safari icon. Tap on Safari then scroll down and tap the option Clear history and website data. It will ask you if you want to clear the history just tap "clear history and data". after clearing the history and data, press and hold the power button again and slide the slider to turn off the ipod then wait for 10 secs then press the power button again to turn iot back on. wait for the ipod to reset then tap youtube app and see if it will work now.  

do the reset steps that i provided you earlier to restart the ipod.

are you still getting the same message when you tap youtube app?

ok. that means that you successfully delete the app. Tap the APP STORE icon on your ipod then tap the search icon (magnifying glass) then enter youtube in the search box. Tap install or tap the cloud icon to download and reinstall youtube app to your ipod then you will notice that the icon will change to OPEN. Just tap OPEN to open the youtube app and see if you still get the same error. 

the procedure sould be the same on all ipod model. Did you see the APPS STORE icon on your ipod?

ok tap the icon then tap the search icon then enter youtube in the searchbox. it will show the list of apps, then select youtube on the list or tap the cloud icon to redownload the app to the ipod. 

what do you see on the screen when you tap the APPS STORE?

tap on Youtube then you will see DOWNLOAD box there. Tap on it to download youtube to the ipod. 

Dear Stanley, It was a pleasure helping you with your Ipod  issue today. Here is a summary of the resolution.
Issue identified : cx getting error when opening youtube on the ipod
Solution Implemented : chat/called cx. tried performing a soft reset on the ipod. no go. tried deleting the youtube app on the ipod but we cant install it. Found out that the ipod has an old ios version and cannot install the newer app on the ipod. Ipod ios cannot be upgraded as well. cx will have to decide if he will gonna buy a new ipod or will just continue using the ipod. Answer accepted.
