Page moderation to block posts or comments. I reported a function not working to FB: "Page moderation to block posts or comments containing certain words is not working. I tested it with two unoffensive words and they were not prevented from appearing on my page as a comment. I'm glad I didn't test it with offensive words as that would have been detrimental to my page's reputation. Please see the screen shot pdf file that show where I added the words to be blocked and then it shows them appearing when two friends commented on the post, so I could test your page moderation block words feature. It is not working." Further, one person is a "friend" the other I un"friended" to test as well. This is a Page I created not a Group. Here is FB's reply: "Your feedback will be used to improve Facebook. Thanks for taking the time to make a report."

Hi again,

Thank you for your help. I can’t find the FB bit where comments should be able to be “unhide” but I did see it before. I suppose I’ll have to let that one go. However I used my husbands acct to comment “testing” and you’ll see in the screenshot that it appeared. He is not a “friend” but he did “like” the page. Any thoughts? “Testing” is still blocked.

Cheers,

Melissa

Hi Mel

I've tried to check the page now using two different profiles  and the moderated comment from your husbands account is not showing if viewed as visitor of page instead of an admin

Thank you for that insight. That really is helpful. I did poke around a bit and clicked on "All Comments" and then the three little dots at the center bottom. That's when it asked to "unhide". I've done so. I guess the blocked words appear on the person who made them's FB account and on perhaps on the admin account (as it did once but not a second time) but blocked words don't appear on visitors who haven't liked the page. I've now tested if the blocked word appears on visitor's who HAVE liked the page's FB but they themselves did not make the blocked word comment. I have a friend who fits this description so I'll ask her to see if "testing" appears. Nope, it doesn't so that works. I'll then "unhide" the comment and see what happens. Okay, she now sees the comment. My next test was if only the blocked words don't appear but other words do appear. I did that test and the whole comment won't appear. The person making the comment won't know their comment is blocked and doesn't appear on the post as others view it on their own FB pages. The comment remains only visible on the posting-person's page. Attached is a screen shot of where the unhide was well, hiding. Thank you for all the help. I may have another quick question for you. I see FB is having system issues so maybe this is affecting features. No need to reply now. I know it's early in US!three little dots

Sorry for the delay. I was away from my pc for a few days and the button “accept” didn’t appear in my phone’s safari. It does on an iPad. I’ll do it now but may have a quick question later this week.

I really wanted to tip you $5 but this company won’t accept anything less than $10. I’m afraid I can’t quite afford a near 50% tip. You should ask them to change that. Lots of people would tip 1 to 5 dollars without a thought.

Thanks again
