My 3 year old dog has had malaise past couple days and a little bump on her eyelid for 3-5 days! Today she won’t hardly get up and do much and both eyes are matted with mucus? What needs done? Old nurse so I can do about anything but obtain meds.

She may need to see the vet to rule out conjunctivitis or any kind of ulcers on her eyes. They will likely want to do a fluorescein eye stain to check for ulcers, and possibly a tear test to rule out dry eye (KCS). In the meantime, if she will let you, you can take a warm wash cloth to try and get some of the discharge from aroind her eyes, as well as flushing her eyes with saline. If her eyes are painful that could be causing the malaise.

Would it then be treated similar to Pink Eye?  Possibly may need antibiotic drops for her eye?
