Ok. Please provide me the new password that you want to use. 

Alright. I think i know what the problem is. Your account has a 2 factor authentication activated. Meaning before you can login to your account or reset your password on your facebook account. It will send another code via text message to your cellphone number to complete the process. Apparently, what you have on your facebook account is your old phone number and you might forgotten to change the phone number on your account. 

In this case, you cannot proceed with the process because of that 2 factory authentication. You will have to submit a report about login issue to facebook admin for them to review your account and request to them to disabled the to factor authentication. 

Here's the link that you will use to send a report to facebook admin about this issue. In the report, you have to provide a description of the issue and specifically tell them that you might have turn on the 1 factor authentication on your account by accident so that they will know what the real issue that is happening on your account.  Attached a scanned copy of your ID like dirvers license or any government id as a proof of your identity. You will receive a notification to your email once they review the report that you submitted.

Is that the same link that you used when you submitted the report? 

 I see. It might take few days for them to responsd to your inquiry and this depends as well on the number of cases that they are handling on a day-to-day basis. 

My suggestion is to submit another report and specifically tell them about the 2 Factor authentication that you need to be deactivated. Tell them also that the phone number listed on your account is not working anymore and request them to add your new phone number.

Issue identified : cx facebook account has 2 factor authentication enabled
Solution Implemented : chat with cx and found out that the 2 factor authentication is activated on the account and the phone number listed on the account is now working anymore. Provided cx link to report the issue to facebook admin and provided what she needs to tell facebook admin (convo below). cx understood and will submit a report. answer accepted.

It might take few days for facebook admin to respond to the request and this depends also on the number of case that they are handling on a daily basis. Lets wait for few more days and wait for their response.
