Dear Marion, It was a pleasure helping you with your Kindle issue today. Here is a summary of the resolution.
Issue identified : kindle screen is showing  error system UID inconsistent.
Solution Implemented : called cx and advised to perform a reset on the kindle by pressing the power button for 20 secs to turn off the kindle and press the button again to turn it back on. Kindle rebooted and it went to the same screen. we manage to force close the error but what she is getting is a gray screen only and no options or icons. Since the kindle is 5 years old already, told cx that it would be best to just buy a nw one rather than to send it for repair since she needs to pay the shipping cost and the repair of the device. Cx will have to decide if she will buy a new kindle. no further questions. answer accepted.
