Hi Dennis,

Here's the procedure to restore the Ipad using your computer. Make sure first that you have itunes installed in your computer.

1. turn off the ipad first. Make sure it is completely turned off by pressing and holding the power button at the top then slide the slide to turn it off

2. Plug the ipad to your computer using the cable that came with in

3. Press and hold the power (top button) and home button (round button below) at the same time and wait for the apple logo to appear on your screen

4. Let go the power button (top button) only when you see the apple logo

5. The itunes on your computer will now detect that the ipad is in recovery mode just hit restore ipad then wati for the ipad to finish the restore.

Dear Dennis, It was a pleasure helping you with your Ipad  issue today. Here is a summary of the resolution.
Issue identified : cx want to restore the ipad to the factory state
Solution Implemented : called cx and provided steps to restore the ipad to the factory state. Steps are also posted on this page. Cx followed the steps and were able to succesfully restored the device. problem solved.
