My dog has tapeworm. She is currently on heartgard plus which has not killed the tape worms. Can I safely give her a treatment with a med for tapeworms only?

Yes! Most of the time praziquantel is used for Tapeworms. You may be able to find it over the counter. If not, your vet should carry it. 

 

Tapeworms are usually transmitted if a dog ingests a flea. So making sure to treat your dog as well as the environment for fleas will help keep her safe from continuing to contract Tapeworms. Hope this helps!
