Dear Robert, It was a pleasure helping you with your Uniden issue today. Here is a summary of the resolution.
Issue identified : cx cant register the handset that he purchased
Solution Implemented : called cx and checked the model of the handset. he purchased dcx170 and his base station is D1680. told cx that the handset is not compatible with the base station. We attempt to register it but it is saying the registration failed. tried resetting the base station. no avail. cx will send the handset back to the store.
