1999 Dodge Ram 2500 w/5.9L diesel, auto trans - The truck has high idle, TPS has been replaced and now idles even higher. With the original TPS I was able to get the idle down to 800 RPM by pushing down really hard on the brake pedal. Without pushing hard on the brake the idle is between 1000 to 1200 RPM.

Hi Brian,

Any DTC's (diagnostic trouble codes) if you don't have anything to check them with you can go to like a autozone and have them check it, I would also suggest getting some electrical cleaner and di-electric grease, and cleaning all electrical connections. starting with ecm plug and TPS connection. then apply the di-electric grease before reconnecting. Be sure to remove cables from both batteries before doing this and thoroughly clean all battery connections and terminals.

Let me know the result after this steps.

Thank you for your prompt response. No DTC's. I have cleaner and di-electric grease so that will be my next step.
