The envelope icon and falshing light means you have a voice message that you havent red or heard yet. Does your Uniden system have a built in answering machine system?

My Uniden machine does have an answering machine.
Alright. Can you follow this procedure using the handset.
Press the Menu button then select Global Setup , then VMWI Reset then select Yes.
That should clear the enevelope icon and the blinking light.
Let me know if that helps.
The Menu button does not have Global Setup
Use the up and down arrow button to navigate the sub menu.
Have found Global Setup. Cannot find VMWI
use the up and down button also to navigate the sub menu. There should be VMWI there.
When I get Globel Setup the only option is Date & Time
Hmmmm.. may I know the exact model of the uniden system. You can check the model at the bottom of the base unit.

Base on the model that you provided to me, this phone system has an answering machine. Does your base station looks like the picture below? That picture came from the DECT 3236 User Manual.

can you press the Play button on the base station and start listening to all your voice mail messages and delete them after listening to them.
Have cleaned out the messages. Still have the envelope and the flashing light
Ok. This phone system also have VMWI reset option. Here's what is written in the manual.
"After you listen to your messages, the message icon turns off. If it doesn’t, you can reset it: With the phone in standby, open the menu and select Global Setup; select VMWI Reset, then select Yes"
When the screen comes up with Global Setup how do I accept it. I get the arrow alog side of Global Set up but do not know how accept it.
Press select button. you will see the word select on your screen and press the corresponding button below.
once you highlighted the Global setup press the MENU/SELECT button to get in to the sub menu then use the up/down button to look for VMWI reset then once it is highlighted press MENU/SELECT button again.
Have got to and selected VMWI and was able to select yes. The other phone has responded with a cleared envelope and the light has ceased flashing but the phone I am using has no light but is fully functioning and has cleared the envelope.
