Hi Karl.

Yes you can use multiple apple device on one computer. Make sure that all devices are not using the same name to avoid confusion.

Let me know if you have further questions.

No success.  I attempted to download Apple iTunes and the reply stated that the copy of iTunes already on my laptop needed to be uninstalled before the new version could be accepted.  I have one iPod currently supported by one iTunes on my laptop.  We have a second iPod we want to install.  Requesting new iTunes failed.  Does the new iPod need to be plugged in during that download to assist in identifying it as seperate from the existing iPod/iTunes?

Your resolution for my first question has failed.

no need to redownload itunes on your computer since it is already there. All you need to do is to plug in the 2nd ipod to the computer and the cmputer should detect it automatically.

I am using 2 apple devices on my computer, iphone, ipad and ipod and all of them are detected by itunes whenever i plug them in to my computer.

Try plugging in the other ipod to a different usb port and see if the computer can now detect it.

I'll be waiting here for your next message.

The THIS COMPUTER icon identifies that the iPod is connected.  Upon opening that file all that is shown is 5 empty folders.  We are unable to do anything with the iPod.  The iPod screen reads CONNECTED EJECT BEFORE DISCONNECTION.  If I open the iTunes icon it proceeds to the collection of music I have installed into it.  The new iPod is empty and my wife wants to load her music but we cannot get it to respond via this laptop.
